by Bullion Prices Staff on July 7, 2011

U.S. bullion prices rose as a group Thursday. Gold rose the slightest, with futures for August delivery advancing $1.40, or 0.1%, to $1,530.60 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. The gain was the third straight. The metal touched an intraday low of $1,522.20 an ounce and reached as high as $1,534.90 an ounce.

"Gold is mostly unchanged on a combination of factors," Adam Klopfenstein, senior market strategist at Lind-Waldock in Chicago, was cited on MarketWatch. "I think gold will give us a rally tomorrow, but there is congestion ahead of the [unemployment] report tomorrow."
