by Bullion Prices Staff on November 15, 2011

U.S. gold prices rebounded ever-so-slightly Tuesday, despite a stronger U.S. dollar. December gold futures added $3.80, or 0.2%, to $1,782.20 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold prices hit an intraday low of $1,760.90 an ounce and reached a high of $1,787.80 an ounce.

"We do see very active physical and safe-haven buying on dips. Even though we do see pressure from a stronger dollar, dips are seen as buying opportunity and key support levels have held," said David Meger, director of metals trading of futures broker Vision Financial Markets, according to Reuters.

Silver easily led precious metals in percentage gains. December silver futures prices added 43.2 cents, or 1.3%, to $34.46 an ounce.

In New York PGM futures prices, December palladium futures added $2.75, or 0.4%, to $667.05 an ounce while January platinum futures declined $1.40, or 0.1%, to $1,642.70 an ounce.
