Gold, Silver Prices Higher; Bullion Eagles Advance

by Bullion Prices Staff on September 13, 2011

Gold prices closed 0.9% higher Tuesday after having fallen 2.5% in the previous session. The December futures contract added $16.80 to $1,830.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, trading between $1,794.80 an ounce and $1,838.90 an ounce.

"The debt crisis of euro-zone peripherals remains the dominant issue," Daniel Briesemann, an analyst at Commerzbank AG in Frankfurt, said in a report relayed on Bloomberg. "Gold should remain in demand as a safe haven."
